Shades of White | White Cabinets for Kitchen & Bath Twin Cities MN
White cabinets are fresh and clean, providing an element of brightness to any kitchen, bath, mudroom, or entertainment center. White in the kitchen is especially on the rise, especially for a contemporary or transitional style home. White cabinets also work well for creating contrast, when darker cabinets are used nearby (think with a black kitchen island).
But which white is the right one? And why are there so many shades? Here are four images featuring shades of white, courtesy of Showplace Wood Cabinetry… which white is right for you?
1. White – Pure and simple, real white is crisp and cool. It pairs well with other pure tones, grays/ blacks, and primary colors or jewel tone accents. If you’re drawn to colors that aren’t “grayed down” than real white is a good option for you.
2. Soft Cream – Just a tad more subtle than real white, soft cream is warm and inviting. It pairs well with dark woods, rich color tones, or warm neutrals.
3. Oyster – Serene and soothing, oyster has a hint of yellow and is as sophisticated as it is beachy. Oyster pairs well with warm metallic tones and other neutrals, though it’s versatility could fit it in amongst a wide range of accent colors.
4. Linen – A relaxed color in the white family, linen features just a touch of tan. It pairs well with pastels, earth tones, blues, and sages, though it also makes a great contrast to black.
