Fresh and Fun Summer Hosting Ideas
Summer is here, and it’s time to kick back and enjoy the warm days and long nights. Everyone has a different idea of the perfect summer day, but we have a sneaking suspicion that spending time outdoors with family and friends tops the list for most Minnesotans. That’s the thing about having to huddle-up inside for the winter; you’re ready to enjoy the summer while it lasts!
Now that it’s the middle of July, we figured you might be looking to mix-up your summer get together; you know, expand the classic barbecue or bonfire. Which is why we pulled together a few of our favorite fresh and fun tips for hosting a cool summer party – get the scoop below!
Farmers Market Party
We love this idea because it gets you outside, keeps your house clean, and there’s affordable food; wins all around! Gather up a crew of your favorite people, wander the market looking for what looks good, and combine your spoils at the end to share in an impromptu picnic. Fresh, fun, and simple!
Personal Pizza Night
Okay, we know we said no grilling, but we have to make an exception for make-your-own pizzas. First off all, who doesn’t love pizza? Second, this meal is such a fun way to make sure everyone gets what they like and provide lots of delicious seasonal food. Healthy and easy are always good ideas in our book!
Fair Photo Hunt
Whether you’re attending a little county fair or the great Minnesota Get Together, this form of friendly competition is a great way to keep kids big and small engaged and interested. Throw together a list of silly and serious things that everyone needs to snap a photo with, for example, a farm animal, people with fanny packs, or the biggest ice cream cone you can find.
Fancy Backyard Brunch
Who doesn’t love breakfast food? Move the meal into the yard and have everyone bring their favorite dish to share and show up in their Sunday best. Break out the croquet, bags, and other lawn games to take the party to the next level!
