Cambria groups its designs into series. In our display, Naomi walked us from Classic to Signature, Coordinates, Luxury and Grandeur, which she called "the fancy stuff." One detail surprises people: our display is arranged by color, not by price, so you can compare whites against whites and darks against darks without guessing what they cost.
According to Naomi, MacBeth is one of the most requested designs in our showroom. It is part of the Signature Series, simple and subtle, with a pattern that moves consistently across the slab. We are also seeing a lot more darker colors, including Inverness Stonestreet and Charlestown. Among the newest arrivals is Merivale, which she describes as a warmer version of MacBeth, plus another new design shown in a satin finish.
Some Cambria designs have a large pattern that becomes the focal point of the room. Naomi's example is Skara Brae, a Luxury Series design with a lot of movement and character. We have it on a big backsplash and island in the showroom. The rule of thumb: pair a busy slab with something really simple so the room does not get too busy.

Yes, and it is one of the best-looking moves in our showroom. Our newest display kitchen mixes three Cambria designs in one space. The island is MacBeth. The perimeter countertops are Everleigh in a polished finish, a large pattern that still reads light and subtle. Up the wall, the backsplash is Inverness Everleigh, which adds an etched texture you can actually feel. Three different whites, all complementary, with more texture on the back wall.
Cambria comes in three finishes. Polished is shiny and available on most designs. Matte is like a matte photo, with very little reflection. Satin is a mix of the two, similar to a honed finish, and it looks different on every design because it pulls out different features of the pattern. Matte and satin are available on select colors.
Mostly it comes down to whether you want to see a reflection. If you wear glasses and want to dull down glare, matte is a favorite. If you want the pattern and movement to stand out without being super reflective, satin is the one. If you love a classic high shine, go polished. We always recommend checking samples in your own lighting before you decide.

Naomi's advice is to skip the blueprints, because they do not tell the whole story and homes change after they are printed.
