Carly Hand

What is your best spring homeowner tip?
Be sure to weed and feed your grass for the upcoming season!

What question(s) do clients ask you the most often?
Price is always a common question as well as time frame. After that, people always ask what finishes and styles are popular or trending. I’m happy to answer any and all of these kinds of questions; I love sharing my knowledge with clients!

What’s your best piece of design advice?
Let us help you! Don’t try to get it all planned out on your own. We have a lot of knowledge and experience to help you through the design process – we can answer a lot of your hard questions.

Favorite current design trend or showroom product:
I love all tile with the crackle design. It adds another element without getting too busy. I have also fallen in love with all the Gray options in cabinets, countertops, and everything. It is such a nice deviation from beige, and yet it can still be paired with it.

What is your best spring homeowner tip?
I would suggest a humidifier or humidity controller, so your cabinets and breadboards don’t shrink up and split. Especially if you’re planning to open the house up when the weather gets nicer. (It has to happen eventually, right?)

What question(s) do clients ask you the most often?
Honestly, usually, it’s just, “what would you do?”

What’s your best piece of design advice?
Go with your gut – first reactions are often the best ones!

Favorite current design trend or showroom product:
Current fave combo Brittanica Warm Cambria with Fog Arabesque mosaic backsplash.

What’s your best piece of design advice?
The piece of advice I give every customer is to find an inspiration image. A picture is worth a thousand words. It allows me to get a taste of what you like, which helps me give design suggestions, especially when you’re having a hard time pinpointing your style.

Another helpful exercise is identifying what you don’t like. Sometimes, that’s an easier place to start. Lastly, don’t be afraid to mix woods, especially oak! There is no rule out there that says you can’t.

Favorite current design trend or showroom product:
My favorite trend is the movement away from all-white kitchens. People are getting excited and bold with their decisions when it comes to color! It may be bright cabinets, countertops, backsplash, or hardware.

The newest color trend I’m in love with is green! Showplace recently came out with a color called Jasper, and it’s beautiful! (Although, I may be biased because I have a similar color on my kitchen bases cabinets.) Products that come in matte finish are also picking up momentum, along with gold tones for hardware. It’s more subtle than the shiny gold brass look.
