Vintage Cabinet Finishes Can Make a Modern Statement

Adding a vintage accent to your home isn’t just for classic homes anymore (though it is indeed a fabulous option when remodeling a vintage or victorian home). For years, trends have been turning toward the high quality, long lasting look of the past, whether it be in the cuts and curves of woods or the paint finishing techniques that give them that old world flair.

Now Showplace Wood, one of the cabinet manufacturers we’re proud to work with, has launched their “Distinctive Vintage” line.  This unique Showplace line takes antique character to the highest level and even makes it, dare we say, modern.  Showplace offers three different style variations sure to suit any home:

  • Vintage
  • Casual Vintage
  • Brushed Vintage

Special finish techniques include hand padding and dry brushing to create a distinctive impression of elegant aging.  Optional character elements are achieved through processes like chain distressing, chisel and rasp distressing, and oversanding.  Some of the styles have no distressing at all, but are vintage-reminiscent via their paints and stains.  As with all Showplace finishes you still have the choice of a satin or matte sheen.

We invite you to visit our showroom here at The Cabinet Store + Culina Design to get a feel for these vibrant and distinctive finishes, and see why they might just add the character and charm you are looking for as you remodel your home.
